Discover the Character-in-Action® Program
designed to promote "fun and effective"
Character Education

Not every character education program gets results. It is important that your character education program be well-rounded and complete, providing these benefits:

  • You receive a working definition of each character trait being taught, and sufficient understanding to communicate it clearly to each student.
  • You receive material that is interesting and intriguing, that captures every student and motivates them in the character building process.
  • You receive easy lesson plans defining unit goals, and giving practical ways to achieve those goals.
  • You receive activities, visual aids, worksheets and tests to reinforce what students learn and get clear results.
  • You receive proven resources for catering the character education program and making a difference.

The Character-in-Action® Program provides all of these benefits for every age and every aspect of character education.

Overall view of the
Character-in-Action® Program
for Character Education

STEP 1:

Character building studies for instructors

The Character-in-Action® Program begins with giving you, the instructor, character building studies to strengthen your grasp on each character trait.

The Character Builder Series is a collection of "how-to" books designed to give you a working knowledge of particular character traits.

The Character Builder Newsletter focuses each month on a different character trait and gives examples of how it is demonstrated in daily life.

The Premium Membership Site offers newsletter archives, articles, ideas, character-for-kids section, etc. You get a wealth of material at your fingertips, preparing you to teach character traits.

STEP 2:

Well-written character books and materials

Fascinating, well-written character books underpin the Character-in-Action® Program. Most have been written by best-selling author Elizabeth L. Hamilton to intrigue and entertain while unobtrusively teaching moral values.

Aside from the Character Builder Series, “proactive teaching-fiction” begins the character teaching for you, without sermonizing or lecturing. Each book is purpose-written for teaching a specific character trait, so the educator never has to “dig” a lesson from the plot, or “force” a lesson upon the plot.

While a character trait is defined clearly in each book, that definition never impinges on the book’s entertainment value. Readers become so caught up in the drama and excitement that they must continue – and they learn character as they read.

STEP 3:

Professionally prepared lesson plans

Lesson plans are important in your character education, and you will achieve purposeful character training only if you do have a plan. As professional educators, we recognize fully the value of lesson plans – and the value of having them prepared by professionals so that you may use them in confidence.

The Character-in-Action® Program offers complete lesson plans for every book in every series of our “proactive teaching-fiction” as well as every book in our self-help, "how-to" series.

Lesson plans can be purchased individually as downloadable files or received at no cost with Premium Membership.

STEP 4:

Activities and awards to reinforce learning

Most lesson plans in the Character-in-Action® Program include numerous activities, worksheets, tests and innovative suggestions for implementing your plan. Activities and tests reinforce what you have taught.

Additional activities are part of the Premium Membership site: computer puzzles, interactive stories, etc. for students to play in free time.

Optional awards available in the Character Store include buttons, magnets, teddy bears, and much more. Stickers, trading cards, and gift sets also reinforce learning.

STEP 5:

Personal and individualized character coaching

Personal and individualized character coaching completes the Character-in-Action® Program. Whether parent or teacher, there are times when you really want a little character coaching. Your challenge doesn't seem to be addressed in our materials.

Discover character coaching with our experts. Get email access or schedule a phone call at a reasonable fee, or receive free coaching with volume purchases for your school. You might ask peers, too, in our character building forum.

Character coaching is the "personal touch" that can make a big difference in your ongoing character building program.
